Facial expresions
This study focuses on developing facial poses to enhance the expressiveness and emotional appeal of 3D characters. The process begins with the creation and analysis of key poses, which serve as the foundation for building clear and readable expressions. From these initial poses, selected facial features are pushed and exaggerated to strengthen the character's emotional communication and visual impact. Particular attention is given to the overlap and interaction between the different elements involved in the performance, ensuring a cohesive relationship between body posture, eye direction, eyebrow movement, and mouth shapes. This holistic approach helps create expressions that feel more natural, dynamic, and believable. The study was carried out using the Mukuru Rig, developed by Ramón Arango, taking advantage of its advanced facial controls to explore a wide range of expressive possibilities and refine the character's emotional performance.
